Invicta S-Type Classic British Sports Car
An existing client of some 25 years, suggested to the owner of an S-Type, Low-Chassis Invicta, that we were the ONLY people to carry out a sympathetic restoration of his car..........
Owned since the 1960s but unused for many years, this wonderful car came to us, part dismantled, for a complete restoration. Stripped down to the chassis frame, we worked meticulously to bring her back to life.......Straightening the chassis......rebuilding the engine with new timing sprockets manufactured to the original patterns.......new timing chains........Re-Manufacturing new gears for the very worn gearbox.........replacement final drive.
The coachwork was sympathetically restored to its former glory........repaired, repainted. The Instruments were rebuilt & the car re-wired.Brakes & steering rebuilt. A combination of restored original & remanufactured interior trim was re-fitted........This wonderfully rare vehicle came back to life..........New hood & tonneau........sidescreens re-made.
Eventually, the project drew to a close........car MOT tested & ready for the road after so many years at rest............the wonderful burble of the 4.5 Litre engine.........the absolutely HUGE grin on the face of the owner...........A mature man scrolling back through the years........Kent countyside flashing by as he changed up through the gears, man & machine reunited for new adventures !
Shortly after leaving us, the car was taken to a local "Old Car event" at the wonderfully evocative Headcorn Aerodrome where it immediately won a Concours event.............One of our engineers was present & the wife of the owner rushed over to him & gave him a huge hug !..................That is what we like..........satisfied clients !!
